Description and Benefits:
The procedure aims to reduce the sagging skin and tissue from the inner or outer thigh. A number of reasons such as weight loss, genetics and normal aging process can cause the skin to lose its firmness and sag. The surgery consists in removing the excess sagging tissues from the thigh and close by tightening the skin to reveal a firmer shape.
This procedure is often combined with other body contouring operations such as bodylift, arm – lift or liposuction. The skin of those patients has been subject to stretch during the excess of weight and elasticity has not returned to normal.
Result is immediate. It will improve after a month when swelling will decrease. Patients should avoid intense activity during a month’s time, for maximum healing.
A scar will remain where the incision was made, which is usually in the backside of the thigh since it is the less visible. Scar length will vary depending on how much tissue is being removed.
Who can have this surgery?
In general, candidates for a thigh lift are:
- People whose weight is relatively stable
- Individuals with excess soft tissue along the inner (medial) thigh region and/or the outer (lateral) thigh
- Healthy individuals who do not have medical conditions that impair healing or increase risk of surgery
